Summary Of Opportunity

The Assistant Flag Football Coach is responsible for all coaching activities for the Flag Football team(s), focusing on academic achievement, skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development, with a high level of discipline. Responsibilities extend beyond the playing season to include events, season planning, player development, academic monitoring, and other activities. As Girls Flag Football is a new program, expectations will be appropriate to its development stage.

It is essential that the candidate demonstrates proven coaching aptitude, a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to produce results. The head coach reports to the Athletic Director, who evaluates performance based on this job description.

What You'll Do

Core duties include:

1. Knowledge of IPS and IHSAA rules and regulations governing Girls Flag Football.
2. Planning and conducting tryouts.
3. Monitoring academic progress and ensuring attendance at study sessions.
4. Developing training programs and practice schedules.
5. Communicating team contribution expectations to players.
6. Devising game strategies.
7. Creating a safe, conducive learning environment.
8. Seeking coaching skill development opportunities.
9. Traveling with the team to and from games.
10. Supervising student-athletes during games and ensuring proper conduct.
11. Ensuring rules and conduct regulations are followed.
12. Building relationships with middle school programs to promote high school participation.
13. Interacting professionally with all stakeholders and resolving conflicts.
14. Representing the school and district positively in all interactions.
15. Attending coaches' meetings and adherence sessions.
