City of Alpharetta seeks a Fire Inspector under the Fire Marshal to perform field inspections, plan checks, investigations, and code enforcement. You will review codes, issue permits for hazardous materials and public assembly, and support fire safety education.
The role requires a high school diploma, at least 21 years old, two years in fire prevention or related codes, EMT certification, and completion of Fire/EMT Basic Training (120 hours).
Under general direction of the Fire Marshal performs responsible, technical, and specialized work in the field of fire and life safety inspection, fire investigation, code enforcement, and advanced plan checks. Reviews, and researches codes; issues permits for the control of hazardous materials, hazardous processes and public assembly, checks building plans for compliance with fire and life safety standards, performs a variety of duties related to conducting fire safety education programs; participates in firefighting, emergency medical services, rescue, and hazardous materials; provides responsible technical support to the Fire Marshal.
