Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our Service Accountancy Team within Finance and Procurement. You will oversee and assist with managing the team that provides financial support to various Council Services, ensuring effective budget setting, in-year financial monitoring, and closure of accounts.

We are happy to consider fully or part-qualified accountants (or AAT) with demonstrable experience.

Qualifications

• Be an experienced accountant with a strong grasp of financial governance and reporting.
• Ability to identify financial issues and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
• Provide financial advice and analysis to support the Council's strategic plans and Medium-Term Financial Strategy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist the Service Accountancy Team delivering financial support to Council Services.
• Ensure effective budget setting, in-year financial monitoring, and closure of accounts.
• Complete statutory returns and grant claims and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Education

Fully or part-qualified accountant / AAT or equivalent experience
