Veggies to Table seeks an experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join our nonprofit farm and work closely with the Farm Manager, Flower Manager, and crew. This full-time role blends hands-on farming with essential administrative duties to keep a productive, organized, and welcoming operation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ seasons of organic farming experience (including crew leadership), knowledge of soil health, diverse cultivation, and strong organizational skills.

Qualificações

• 3+ seasons of organic farming experience, including crew leadership
• At least 1 year of no-till farming experience
• Knowledge of farming in New England zones 5b-6a
• Ability to teach skills to volunteers and beginners
• Knowledge of vegetable and herb production from seed to table
• Knowledge of cut flower production
• Experience in a propagation greenhouse
• Experience with farm equipment including Jang seeder, BCS, broadfork
• Experience with irrigation troubleshooting
• Understanding of soil health and organic pest control
• Ability to maintain detailed farm records
• Strong detail-oriented organizational skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather
• Experience with WWOOFers is a plus
• Comfortable with both hands-on work and administrative duties
• Timely communication with team
• Willingness to share mission through photos

Responsabilidades

• Manage day-to-day operations with the Farm Manager and Flower Manager
• Take initiative to keep work organized and on schedule
• Develop and execute crop plans
• Work with team to build soil health using tests, cover crops, and amendments
• Implement best practices for diverse cultivation
• Operate a BCS with attachments
• Coordinate with food pantries and partner orgs on distribution
• Organize WWOOFers, volunteers, students, and interns and provide instruction
• Teach volunteers planting techniques, harvesting methods, soil health, and pest control
• Liaise between volunteers, interns, WWOOFers, staff, and leadership
• Onboard WWOOFers and manage arrivals/departures
• Manage volunteer shift portal and logging hours
• Handle admin duties for WWOOFers and volunteers
• Keep accurate records on and off the farm
