STS. SIMON & JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH in Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support parish resources, custodial care, security, and maintenance of the church campus including special and capital projects.
The role requires 5–7 years in related field, knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting) and the ability to lift 40 pounds. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call emergencies is a must.
Summary:Assists the Facilities Manager with all parish physical resources, custodial care, security, maintenance of church campus, special and capital projects.
The Assistant Facilities Manager must have the ability to understand and apply the vision and mission of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church (SSJ) while managing the details and providing the structure that supports them.
Education/Experience:Applicants must be at least 25 years of age with a minimum of 5-7 years in related field. This experience includes a general knowledge of basic building maintenance, HVAC and mechanical functions, general carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and custodial skills.The Assistant Facility Manager must have good planning and organizational skills, be able to prioritize competing demands, and communicate with staff and volunteers on facility needs and uses; Spanish-speaking a plus. This position requires that the Assistant Manager lift a minimum of 40 pounds and have complete mobility in building and grounds activities. Assistant Manager must demonstrate a working knowledge of computers and proficiency in software programs, including Microsoft Office applications, database systems and use of the Internet.Assistant Manager must have a clear understanding of acceptable business practices in relationship to church teachings.Must be able to patiently mentor facilities staff in the technical and practical skills required for maintenance activities.
The applicant must also possess a minimum of a High School Diploma, with some college education preferred. All applicants will be expected to work on a flexible schedule that will require some nights, holiday/holy days and weekends when necessary. Being available on call for emergencies is a must.
