Job description

Join our Estimating and Tendering Department as an Assistant Estimator (Entry-Level). In this role, you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate project cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.

Essential Functions

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Analyze blueprints, shop drawings and surveys to prepare cost, time, materials and labor estimates.
  • Review and comment on project documents, inclusive of construction attachments, architectural and mechanical surveys, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Perform detailed take-offs for use in determining estimates and project budgets.
  • Consult with clients, contractors and in-house staff to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, contractors and subcontractors for adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
  • Review material and labor requirements for the purpose of deciding the most cost-effective manner to perform the noted work, either by self-performing or subcontracting the work scope.
  • Familiarity and expertise with construction, engineering, mechanical systems, and architectural details is a plus.
Position Qualifications
Education
  • Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent field experience.
Experience
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, along with strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in estimates and documentation.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Computer Skills
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
