Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an electrical engineer to join our team in Concord, CA or San Francisco, CA. You will support the lead engineer on multiple water and wastewater projects, performing sizing, calculations, and design using AutoCAD and Revit.

You will collaborate with multiple disciplines, conduct site visits, and assist with power system studies and factory testing. A BS in Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years in heavy industry are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years in heavy industrial electrical engineering and design; water/wastewater experience desirable.
• Familiarity with industrial power distribution systems; experience with AutoCAD or Revit desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support lead electrical engineer on multiple projects for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare project specifications.
• Perform sizing and calculations for electrical systems (conductor, conduit, protective devices, lighting).
• Coordinate with civil, process-mechanical, and other disciplines.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
• Prepare electrical design in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Review power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP.
• Assist in factory witness testing of electrical equipment.

Job Description:

• Support the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare project specifications
• Perform conductor sizing, conduit sizing, protective device sizing, lighting, and other electrical calculations
• Coordinate with civil, process‑mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, and instrumentation disciplines
• Perform site visits as needed
• Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project
• Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project
• Review shop drawings and respond to request for information
• Support the lead electrical engineer to perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project

Minimum Professional Qualification:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial Electrical Engineering and Design; Prior experience in water/wastewater industry is desirable
• Familiarity with industrial power distribution system
• Experience in Microsoft Office products
• Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software is desirable
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software is desirable
