Job summary

Atlantic County Government seeks a Civil Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree for design, construction, inspection and maintenance of roads, bridges, dams and facilities. A $5,000 bonus is awarded after passing the FE exam, plus another $5,000 after passing the PE exam; upon licensure, the employee will be promoted to Senior Engineer with a salary increase.

Responsibilities include applying engineering standards, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring projects meet safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• PE license or Engineer-in-Training certificate may substitute for the degree.
• One year of civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of roads, bridges, dams, powerplants, water and wastewater facilities.
• Perform routine civil engineering tasks under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

Job description

Atlantic County Government is looking for college graduates with Bachelor’s Degrees in Civil Engineering.

We offer a $5,000 bonus upon passing the FE exam and another $5,000 bonus upon passing the PE exam. Upon licensure, the employee will be promoted with a salary increase to Senior Engineer.

Job Definition

Under direction, performs routine civil engineering work involved in the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of structures and facilities such as roads, bridges, dams, powerplants, water supply, sewage and waste disposal systems, or similar facilities; does other related work.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Possession of a Professional engineer's license or an engineer-in-training certificate issued by the New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors may be substituted for the above educational requirement.
• One (1) year of experience in civil engineering.
• This position requires a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
