McFarland Johnson (MJ) is seeking an Assistant Engineer for Bridge Engineering in its Transportation Division, with locations in Portland, ME, Concord and Portsmouth, NH. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT preferred.
• 0-4 years of highway structure engineering analysis and design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for public highway structure projects with a team.
• Create and update construction specifications and contract documents for State DOT and Municipal Projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with a team of professionals in developing designs for public highway structure projects.
• Create and updating construction specifications and contract documents for State DOT and Municipal Projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT preferred.
• 0-4 years of highway structure engineering analysis and design experience.
• Project experience with State DOT's preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team.
