***In order to be considered for this position, candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Assistant Electrical Engineer, be reachable on the open-competitive civil service list for Exam #3108, or be eligible under the 55a program.***

The NYCDOT seeks Assistant Electrical Engineers to join the Traffic Management Center within the Traffic Operations division. The unit operates 24/7, including holidays and weekends. The selected candidate will perform highly technical engineering work, including monitoring and troubleshooting traffic signals, coordinating with maintenance contractors, checking the health of ITS equipment, and managing traffic incidents citywide. The role involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reporting to the TMC shift supervisor.

Work Location: 28-11 Queens Plaza North, LIC, NY 11101

Hours/Shift: 35 hrs/Shift TBD

Minimum Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university and one year of full-time electrical engineering experience; or
  • Baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.

A master's degree can substitute for one year of experience. Degrees in other engineering fields are not acceptable.

Preferred Skills
