Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking an Assistant EHS Manager to integrate environmental health and safety practices into project operations. This role is project-based and involves collaboration with EH&S staff, superintendents, and project leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and safe work environments.

The candidate will bring a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years in safety roles, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent or plus 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • 3+ years of experience identifying safety hazards and recommending controls.
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety role with communication across all levels in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate environmental health and safety services into project practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Interact with EH&S staff, superintendents, project managers and executives on safety matters.

The Assistant Environmental Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the integration of environmental health & safety services into the business practices and compliance with regulatory requirements on their assigned Project. The Assistant EHS manager shall be project based. The Assistant EHS manager oversees responsibilities of their assigned Project as related to environmental health & safety services and has direct interaction with EH&S Staff, Superintendents, Project Manager, Project Executive and Area / Regional EHS Director.

Assistant EHS Manager Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent or plus 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • 3+ years of experience in a role assigned to the identification of safety hazards and recommending appropriate controls
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety role that required communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment
