Job summary

Sonnet Montessori in Minnesota is seeking a full-time classroom assistant to support the Lead Educator in daily routines and lesson plans. You will supervise children at all times, assist with caregiving tasks, and encourage independence through structured activities and play.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be able to pass a background check, and hold or be willing to obtain pediatric CPR & First Aid within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills required to interact with families and staff.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a childcare setting.
• Calm, patient demeanor with the ability to remain composed under stress.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing classroom routines, activities, and lesson plans.
• Supervise children at all times (within sight and hearing), maintaining required ratios.
• Support caregiving needs including feeding, diapering/toileting, and medication administration as needed.
• Encourage children’s independence, self-confidence, problem-solving, and responsibility.
• Interact with children daily through circle time, free play, meals, outdoor play, and structured activities.
• Record observations and needs using the parent communication app.
