Job summary

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for a creative, enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our Boulder preschool program. You will support curriculum delivery for children ages 2½ to 6, maintain a safe, engaging classroom, build positive relationships with families, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• AECT qualification for Colorado is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Willingness to participate in trainings on child development and early childhood education.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement the program curriculum to meet needs of children and families.
• Provide care to children aged 2½ to 6 years.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and friendly classroom environment.
• Develop positive relationships with children and parents, and support volunteers.

The ideal candidate radiates fun but balances that positive energy and playfulness with maturity, thoughtfulness and experience in actively engaging with youth in a safe, healthy manner. Strong customer service skills and a positive work attitude are a must, as you will be a role model for our preschoolers. Our center provides a supportive work environment where all staff members feel valued and respected. We also provide extensive training and learning opportunities to allow teachers to advance in their early childhood career.This position is part time, year-round up to 28 hours per week.
