Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify correct orders loaded before departure from the warehouse.
• Assist driver with delivery, sales, and truck maintenance procedures and processes.
• Help maintain adequate inventory levels at each customer account.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and provide exceptional service.
• Audit POS materials for quality brand representation at each customer account.
• Monitor product freshness and rotation at customer accounts.
• Complete required training, seminars, and classes.
• Sell products in accordance with company guidelines and TAB C regulations.
• Ensure all deliveries assisted comply with regulations and company standards.
• Assist with regular updates and accountability for SOPs and OOC products.
• Assist with audits and timely submission of required reports.
• Perform duties in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Act.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or designee.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Driver collaborates with the driver to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of product orders to assigned customer accounts. This role assists with delivery, sales, truck maintenance, inventory management, and the overall success of product distribution.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Verify that the correct orders are loaded onto the truck before departure from the warehouse.
• Assist the driver with all delivery, sales, and truck maintenance procedures and processes.
• Help maintain adequate inventory levels at each customer account, reducing or eliminating out-of-stock situations.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, providing exceptional service.
• Audit the condition of point-of-sale (P.O.S.) materials to ensure quality brand representation at each customer account.
• Monitor product freshness at customer accounts and ensure proper rotation or removal of products to meet company standards.
• Complete all required training, seminars, and classes assigned.
• Sell all products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) regulations.
• Ensure that all deliveries assisted comply with T.A.B.C. regulations, state laws, and the quality standards set by L&F Distributors.
• Assist the Delivery Driver in providing regular updates to ensure accountability for adhering to operational procedures and managing out-of-code (OOC) products related to freshness and expiration.
• Assist with conducting routine audits to verify that all products are within their expiration dates and meet all standards.
• Assists with accurately completing and submitting any required reports in a timely manner.
• Perform job duties in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Act.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or designee.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• A valid CDL license is preferred.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team and assist in various tasks as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to use hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds regularly.
• Exposure to frequent sitting and long periods of driving.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):

Involves frequent/infrequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:

• Exposure to various retail and food service environments, which may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and crowded spaces.
• Potential for exposure to product samples and promotional materials, requiring adherence to safety guidelines.
• Travel may involve risks, including adverse weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to warehouse settings, where moving equipment and inventory may pose safety risks.
• Other extreme hazards not listed above.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

• Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
