Job summary

Transocean is seeking an Assistant Driller to work with the Driller on offshore drilling operations. You will assist with operating drilling and mud circulating equipment, supervise Derrickhand and Floorhand, and actively participate in safety and operational discipline.

A strong emphasis on safety, training, and teamwork is required. The role requires pre-requisites including a high school diploma or technical certificate, valid medical certificates, and a valid well control certificate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal education or relevant craft certificate preferred.
• Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates required.
• Knowledge of technical calculations for safe drilling operations.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Valid well control certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driller in operating drilling and mud circulating equipment as instructed.
• Provide guidance to the Derrickhand, Pumphand and Floorhand.
• Participate in safety meetings and START process.
• Supervise/mentor rig crew and ensure training compliance.
• Participate in drilling operations and well control as needed.
