Job summary

Community High School District 218 seeks an Assistant Dive Coach to support student-athlete development in diving and contribute to the athletic department's mission.

You will assist the head coach, supervise athletes during practices and events, and ensure safety and eligibility compliance across IHSA rules. Required certifications include ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS, with high school coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification required.
• Previous high school tennis coaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in teaching dive fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, travel, and related events.
• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, games (home and away), and team functions.
• Support the head coach in planning practices, game management, and conducting skill instruction.
• Monitor and enforce all eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.
• Chaperone and supervise athletes at all swim events (including practices, games, community gatherings, etc.), maintaining discipline and promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
• Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
• Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.
