The Navarro County District Attorney’s Office in Corsicana, TX is seeking a full-time Assistant District Attorney to join a two-person misdemeanor prosecution team. Duties include intake, bond hearings, plea negotiations, trial prep, and jury/bench trials; some JP Court dockets and mental commitment hearings may be assigned.

Starting salary ranges from $95,000 to $110,000, negotiable by experience. Benefits include a county retirement plan, healthcare, bar dues, and CLE opportunities.

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and Texas Bar admission.

The Navarro County Criminal District Attorney’s Office is seeking applications for a full-time misdemeanor prosecutor position. The selected candidate will be part of a two-person team handling all aspects of misdemeanor prosecution including case intake, bond hearings, plea negotiations, trial preparation, jury/bench trials, and probation revocation hearings. The candidate may also be responsible for handling dockets in J.P. Courts and mental commitment hearings.

Our office functions as a team where attorneys gain valuable trial experience in a fast-paced environment.All attorneys receive in-house training in trial skills and TDCAA courses, and as their training progresses, Misdemeanor prosecutors will also assist Felony attorneys during jury trials. This is an excellent position for those who want to gain trial experience and desire to begin a career in criminal prosecution.

Our office is located in Corsicana, recently featured in the new Travel Texas Ad Campaign, and known for, among other things, Navarro College, featured on the Netflix series, “CHEER”, the Original Collin Street Bakery and the 41,000-plus-acre Richland-Chambers Lake. Corsicana is 50 miles south of Dallas. Starting salary range is between $95,000 and $110,000 and is negotiable depending upon experience. Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent from an ABA-accredited Law School.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar
• A desire to try jury trials.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to ethical prosecution.
• An ability to get along with co-workers, judges, defense attorneys, law enforcement and the public.

Preferred candidates will have either prior prosecution experience, or have interned in a District or County Attorney’s Office during law school.
