Job summary

County of Bucks is seeking an Assistant District Attorney to join the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. The role offers hands-on courtroom experience handling meaningful cases from inception through resolution and early responsibility, with placement at ADA I–III levels based on experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong writing, advocacy, and courtroom presence, and a commitment to ethical prosecution and public service.

Qualifications

• Prior prosecutorial or trial experience preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated work ethic, strong judgment, and professionalism
• Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presence
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining attention to detail
• Commitment to ethical prosecution and public service
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Work directly with law enforcement to prepare search warrants, affidavits, and court orders
• Draft, litigate, and respond to substantive motions, briefs, and/or appeals
• Handle hearings in Magisterial District Courts, the Court of Common Pleas, and/or appellate courts
• Conduct bench, jury trials and/or appellate arguments independently
• Make principled, well-reasoned sentencing recommendations to the court
• Communicate professionally with victims, witnesses, police officers, and members of the public
