Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in the Massachusetts Bar, pending application, or SJC Rule 3:03 certification.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute all aspects of criminal cases in District Court, including jury sessions.
• Review police reports and charging decisions; recommend adjustments as needed.
• Manage arraignments, bail requests, and detention hearings as appropriate.
• Provide mandatory discovery to defendants and defense counsel.
• Handle pre-trial motions and motions to suppress; prepare written memoranda.
• Review files, statutes, case law, victim input, and determine case resolutions.
• Handle mental health commitment matters affecting criminal cases.
• Plea, bench, or jury trial case resolutions as required.
• Follow Victim’s Bill of Rights mandates in proceedings.
• Handle cases before Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court.
