Job summary

Middlesex County District Attorney's Office is seeking Assistant District Attorneys to represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in criminal proceedings in Middlesex County. ADAs handle pre-trial to post-conviction matters across Juvenile, District and Superior Courts, including bail, motions, plea negotiations, and trials.

Starting salary is $72,000/year, with benefits such as vacation, sick leave, personal days, healthcare, retirement, and pension vesting after 10 years of service.

Qualifications

• J.D. or international equivalent from ABA-Accredited school.
• Current admission to the Massachusetts Bar or intent to seek admission.
• Strong legal writing and research abilities.
• Familiarity with criminal law, procedure and evidence.
• Commitment to developing trial advocacy through training and practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Commonwealth in pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction matters.
• Prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases in Juvenile, District and Superior Courts.
• Handle bail arguments, motions, plea negotiations, and trials.
• Participate in appellate proceedings as needed.
