The Assistant District Attorney for Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government performs professional legal work handling criminal cases from start to finish. The role involves drafting indictments and motions, representing the State in various court appearances, and presenting cases to judges and juries.

Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor and be in good standing with the Georgia State Bar; prior experience with domestic violence cases is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor required; admission to Georgia bar in good standing.
• Domestic violence experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of criminal court procedures.

Responsabilités

• Drafts indictments, accusations, presentments, and related pleadings.
• Represents the State in court appearances including hearings and motions.
• Reviews cases, interviews witnesses, researches and prepares testimony.
• Gathers and analyzes evidence and reviews legal decisions.
• Presents evidence to the Grand Jury for indictment.
• Attends meetings and community events; communicates with stakeholders.
