The Bronx County District Attorney’s Office (BXDA) seeks well-qualified staff whose diverse backgrounds contribute to serving the 1.4 million members of the Bronx community and to pursuing a safer Bronx through fair justice. BXDA has an opening for an experienced attorney to serve as Chief Privacy Officer. We seek an attorney with 5+ years of experience in privacy protection and information security to join our General Counsel’s Division. The division provides services including legal scholarship, training, discovery compliance, litigation, extraditions, and privacy protection.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a privacy program compliant with applicable laws.
• Develop and manage privacy policies and procedures.
• Conduct privacy audits and reviews.
• Handle privacy-related inquiries and investigations.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance.
• Maintain records of privacy activities and address privacy breaches.
• Perform other related projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
• US Citizenship and New York State Residency required.
• Admission to NYS Bar.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
