Job summary

Gator Gypsum, Inc. - Pompano is seeking an Assistant Dispatcher to work with the Dispatcher/Operations Manager, coordinating orders and deliveries to customers in daily operations.

You will maintain warehousing and distribution, schedule staff, communicate with drivers and customers, and ensure compliance with safety and transportation requirements.

This role demands strong organization, multitasking, and teamwork, with opportunity for growth within the operations team.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum experience in the industry or a similar industry.
• High School Degree or GED.
• Leadership, communication and analytical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
• Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements and enforces adherence to requirements
• Completes warehouse/delivery requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
• Communicate with customers, drivers, vendors, and internal departments to provide updates and resolve issues.
• Respond promptly to schedule changes, delays, emergencies, and other operational challenges.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, delivery records, service documentation, and transportation reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable transportation requirements.
• Coordinates with personnel to ensure that service to the customer meets an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback
• Cooperates with the safety team and GMS Risk Management representatives in the investigation and analysis of potential hazards to enforce methods and reduce losses of claims.
