The Assistant Director of Youth Hockeyis responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of all youth hockey programming under the Reading Royals Youth Hockey Association. This role requires both independent initiative and teamwork to promote skill development, ensure safety, and foster an inclusive environment for players, coaches, and families.
This role will pay an annual salary of $50,000-$60,000.

This position will remain open until August 22, 2025.
Develop and execute a long-term vision and strategic objectives for all youth hockey programs.
Create and manage annual revenue and expense budgets.
Recruit, evaluate, and assist in selecting volunteer coaches.
Organize and oversee tryouts and team selection for league and select programs.
Lead initiatives for coach education and development.
Design and facilitate player development programs across all levels.
Ensure all programs support age-appropriate skill development.
Coordinate and assign ice time for all youth hockey teams.
Ensure proper team placement for all registered players.
Appoint coaches to teams in coordination with staff and leadership.
Serve as Tournament Director for all hosted youth hockey tournaments.
Make independent decisions and perform duties with limited supervision.
Develop and implement policies and procedures with a focus on risk management and safety.
Oversee hockey-related equipment inventory and ensure safety standards.
Plan and manage marketing initiatives for youth hockey programs.
Supervise and provide direction to the Assistant Director of Youth Hockey.
Collaborate with Reading Royals coaches and players to organize youth hockey clinics year-round.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years of experience in ice-related youth sports, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Proven management and leadership experience.
Background in a professional sports team environment preferred.
USA Hockey coaching certification required.
Demonstrated commitment to youth sports development.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organizational and planning abilities with follow-through.
