Job summary

Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, seeks an Assistant Director to lead fundraising for the Women’s Philanthropy Initiative within the Harvard College Fund. The role reports to the Senior Associate Director of Development and collaborates with AA&D and university partners to secure leadership gifts of $25,000+ from alumnae.

The position combines internal collaboration with external engagement, planning annual strategies, and donor stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 4 years of university fundraising experience.
• Travel 15-20% of working days; some evenings and weekends.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and databases.
• Onsite work in Cambridge, MA on assigned days weekly.

Responsibilities

• Execute annual fundraising plan for Harvard Women’s Philanthropy Initiative (WPI).
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumnae gifts of $25K+ through the Harvard College Fund.
• Collaborate with Senior Associate Director to recruit and manage alumnae volunteers in the WPI Founders and Members Circles.
• Coordinate with School Prospect Managers to assign alumnae to be solicited by WPI volunteers.
• Develop and maintain the annual pipeline of WPI prospects.
• Plan and execute a portfolio of WPI events and support the Women’s Philanthropy Summit.
