Job summary

UMass Amherst seeks an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Student Careers to lead and expand CICS Careers services for Computer Science undergraduates. You will mentor staff, coordinate employer relations, and develop scalable resources to prepare students for internships and full-time roles.

This role combines advising, program management, and data-driven program development in a hybrid, campus-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of related experience or a Master's Degree.
• Strong problem solving and data gathering.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops specialized, scalable resources to prepare current undergraduate students and alumni for internship opportunities and careers.
• Provides personalized career coaching to undergraduate students.
• Mentors and co-manages career developer student staff.
• Advises faculty and staff regarding computer science employment trends and implications for graduates.
• Contributes to comprehensive career data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Co-manages the career development software and recommends updates to technology and processes.
• Identifies access and barrier issues affecting students from underrepresented backgrounds and designs steps to improve participation and outcomes.
• Develops content for marketing of CICS Careers resources and programming and promotes through multiple channels.
• Facilitates employer recruitment by building relationships with alumni and recruiters.
• Plans, organizes, and attends career events to engage students and promote CICS Careers services.
