Job summary

Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, seeks an Assistant Director for Student Staff Learning and Development. This live-in role leads learning, development, and recruitment for 225+ student staff across Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses, with housing on campus in a furnished apartment.

The position reports to Residential Education leadership and supports student learning, wellbeing, and community development through strategic programming and assessment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 2+ years relevant experience; or a Bachelor's with 4+ years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and selection for Resident Assistants, Front Desk staff, and seasonal employees across Boca Raton and Jupiter.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development model aligned with the department’s curriculum.
• Oversee staff engagement, performance evaluation, coaching, and development.
• Manage incident response, on-call leadership, and risk management for student staff.
• Maintain employee records and resources in Workday and StarRez; coordinate with campus partners.
