Assistant Director - Student Services and Enrollment

Position Title: Assistant Director - Student Services and Enrollment

Position Type: Fixed Term

Hiring Range: $29.57 - $33.94/hour; compensation based on education, experience, skills, and internal equity.

Pay Frequency: Hourly

Position Overview

The Assistant Director works with the Santa Clara Online team, reporting to the Director of Student Services. Responsibilities include overseeing engagement activities, supporting student retention through academic advising, implementing policies, and coordinating student services and events. The role also involves communication with prospective students, nurturing relationships, and supporting recruitment and admissions processes. The start date is July 1, 2025, or later.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Academic Support and Records Management (45%)
  • Maintain knowledge of university programs and online degrees.
  • Coordinate academic advising for students.
  • Ensure smooth file transition with Admissions.
  • Manage student academic records and reports.
  • Handle registration, enrollment, and graduation processes.
  • Monitor LMS activity and collaborate with program providers.
  1. Student Engagement and Event Planning (30%)
  • Maintain student engagement through outreach.
  • Notify students of events and deadlines.
  • Assist with orientations, meet-and-greets, and residency events.
  • Respond to student concerns and connect to campus resources.
  1. Admissions and Recruitment (25%)
  • Answer questions about programs and application processes.
  • Execute recruitment activities and represent Santa Clara Online at events.
  • Track application progress and collaborate with admissions teams.
  • Oversee recruitment events and outreach programs.

This position provides work direction to 1-2 student employees and reports to the Director of Student Services.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's Degree (Master’s preferred), 0-3 years of relevant experience, and ability to work cooperatively in a diverse environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and online learning systems is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Primarily desk work, some travel, evening/weekend hours, and a typical office setting with flexible remote work options.
