Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Silver Spring, MD, seeks an Assistant Director of Events to plan, staff, and execute community-based fundraising events for a single campaign. You will build donor relationships, lead event teams, and collaborate with major gift officers to develop fundraising concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field (Required)
• 4 years of technical development experience including with proven major gifts, high-end annual gifts or event execution, or managing a component of the marketing program (Required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, clear and articulate speech
• Proactive, energetic, confident with donor service mindset and teamwork focus
• High professionalism, compassion, creativity and integrity
• Proven donor relationship cultivation experience
• Ability to devise strategies and tactics to reach goals
• Excellent time management and task completion abilities
• Familiarity with donor platforms like Raiser's Edge

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and organize events for a single campaign or channel.
• Develop and maintain an extensive internal/external network to facilitate event coordination.
• Serve as main planning-to-execution contact and develop complete timelines.
• Collaborate with Events Committees and Major Gift Officers for concepts and designs.
• Coordinate mailings, logistics, budgets, and vendor contracts; manage staffing and expenditures.
• Execute events with vendor coordination, content updates, post-event summaries and on-site supervision.
• Provide on-site oversight, address issues, and guide volunteers and staff during events.
• Ensure contract terms are met and assist with pre/post-event duties as needed.
