We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Assistant Program Director to join our team.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to assist with the management and administration of the Reentry program. Work involves supervising staff; reviewing work schedules; and ensuring that clients are properly assessed and are receiving appropriate services and case management. Duties also include overseeing and participating in case management, treatment plans and service delivery. Assists the Director with the administrative aspects of program operations and serves as Director in his/her absence. Performs related work as directed.

Supervises case managers and other staff assigned in the Reentry program. Provides guidance, direction and assistance as needed. Reviews work schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage. Assists with recruitment and selection of new staff. Recommend disciplinary action to Program Director as needed. Coordinates staff training and monitors applicable staff certification.

Supervises service delivery, including client intake, assessment, service plan development, service delivery, and progress assessments. Assign caseloads to staff.

Ensures that clients are being scheduled and transported for appointments, conferences, hearings and other activities.

Participate in client treatment team meetings as needed. Attend FAPT meetings, school conferences, and court hearings to obtain and provide information pertaining to the client and his/her needs and progress.

Supervises and provides counseling to clients and their families as needed. Facilitates various groups as assigned such as parenting, substance abuse, etc. Works with clients to change negative behaviors and to reinforce positive behaviors.

Supervises and performs case management work. Ensures effective coordination of services with other professionals and service providers; and ensures client files and related documentation are prepared and maintained in accordance with policies and procedures. Supervises and performs intake and discharge tasks as necessary; and ensures confidentiality of client records and information.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with community organizations, school personnel, referral agencies and other human service providers. Coordinates activities and works to maximize resources and facilitate the integration of varied services.

Implements crisis intervention strategies as needed. Identifies potentially dangerous or unhealthy situations. Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported properly. Reviews the actions taken and documentation for critical incidents and other emergency/crisis situations. Resolves any issues pertaining to same.

Maintains effective communication with families, schools, referral agencies, court personnel, etc.; Responds to questions and initiates calls as necessary to appropriate individuals (families, teachers, law enforcement or courts personnel, etc.) regarding progress, program operations, events, incidents, client behaviors, issues, etc.

Testifies in court as necessary.

Reviews case files, documentation, progress notes and case management records prepared by staff. Completes file reviews of all cases according to program requirements. Ensure records meet requirements, are accurate and kept up to date.

Assists the director with planning and directing the program to include assisting with budget preparation; assisting with plans for maintaining applicable program certification and ensuring program compliance; developing and maintaining policy and procedure manuals, etc. Assists with intake and discharge planning, termination and rejection.

Prepare statistical reports and compiles client and/or program information upon request.
