Job summary

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe Housing Authority seeks an Assistant Director to help plan, manage, and operate housing programs. You will supervise maintenance and coordinate with Resident Services while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and tribal grant requirements.

The role involves budgeting, reporting, and advancing financial literacy initiatives for homebuyers, with occasional travel and a potential for routine remote work up to one day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration or related field, or plan to complete within 4 years of hire.
• Moderate computer skills required.
• Proven ability to resolve complex issues and prepare reports, grants, and contracts.
• 2+ years experience with Tribal Governments.
• Ability to work with HUD and grant writers to identify opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, management, and operations of Housing Authority.
• Supervise maintenance and collaborate with Resident Services.
• Manage tribal grant programs and financial awareness initiatives for homebuyers.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, NAHASDA, and LIHTC regulations.
• Prepare updates and reports for the Housing Board and funding agencies.
• Travel locally, statewide, and out of state as required.
