Job summary

Susquehanna University seeks an Assistant Director of Leadership & Engagement to support and enhance extracurricular programming for students. You will lead leadership development opportunities, supervise student activities, and manage engagement systems.

The role oversees budget, contracts, training, and collaboration with campus partners to build an inclusive, vibrant campus life. Occasional night/weekend hours apply; 40 hours per week in Selinsgrove, PA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with two years of related experience or equivalent
• Minimum of two years' experience in student affairs with success in planning campus events
• Knowledge of student development theory and assessment to improve programs

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of co-curricular activities and programs for students
• Supervise Student Activities Committee (SAC) programming board and campus events
• Supervise Outdoor Recreation programming and equipment and off-campus trips
• Manage contract negotiation and budget oversight for programming and events
• Co-supervise the SGA Treasurer and finance committee and monitor ledgers
• Support development and implementation of new student transition initiatives (Take Flight Orientation, etc.)
• Serve as administrator of Campus Groups and related engagement platforms
• Promote the use of Trax for student programming in collaboration with Events Management
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student interns and staff
• Collaborate with staff on traditions and large-scale programs (Homecoming, Senior Week)
• Provide programmatic support to Leadership & Engagement staff to ensure diversity and inclusion
• Utilize student development theories in strategic planning of engagement initiatives
