Description

Oversee the day-to-day operations of Social Clubs:



  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement in providing direction and leadership for Lipscomb's Social Club system within the context of the University's mission

  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement in the expansion and continued development of the Lipscomb Social Club system

  • Partner and work closely with the College of Entertainment and the Arts and the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement to ensure social club participation in the annual production of Singarama

  • Coordinates and collects assessment data associated with Social Club programs and highlights educational and learning outcomes; produces semesterly and annual reports

  • Develops and assesses processes and changes regarding risk management

  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop programming for Social Clubs and individual organizations

  • Oversees administrative practices that service the Social Club community, such as data collection, roster management, and the creation of promotional materials

  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement in develop regular educational opportunities for the campus community regarding hazing prevention

  • Ensure quality support and training are provided to Social Clubs

  • Ensure quality consultation, support, and development are provided for Social Clubs officers regarding recognition, funding opportunities, club operations, and event planning

  • Advise Social Clubs on leadership development, group dynamics, event management, and financial management

  • Advises, counsels, guides, and coordinates Social Clubs in planning, advertising, resource management, and faculty/staff sponsor information

  • Management of Presence, the software-based organization management system

  • Serve as a liaison between Lipscomb faculty/staff and Greek Life

  • Attend and facilitate bi-weekly meetings with the Inter Club Council

  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement in managing Social Club processes including intake, new member orientation, leadership training, finances, retreats, and other functions regarding Social Clubs


Oversee the day-to-day operations of Student Activities Board:



  • Hire, manage, and direct the Student Activities Boards student employees

  • Develop and implement events and activities produced by the SAB

  • Schedule and direct special programs, events, and activities both on and off campus

  • Work collaboratively with Nashville vendors to create opportunities for Lipscomb students to experience Nashville as an extension of Lipscomb's campus

  • Develop campus-wide programming that supports belonging initiatives on campus in collaboration with Student Life


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 1 year directly related to administration of student programs, support, or student life functions related to Greek Life, Student Involvement, Student Housing, or similar


Skills:



  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Maintain records and prepare reports

  • Consistently meet scheduled deadlines

  • Understand and follow oral and written directions

  • Design digital and print assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar

  • Work cooperatively with others

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

  • Provide orientation to large groups

  • Adaptability in dynamic situations

  • Ability to problem solve in a collaborative environment


Work Environment:



  • Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in work schedule with some nights, weekend, and/or irregular working hours


Physical Requirements:



  • Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and material is needed to perform the job satisfactorily
