Job summary

Gurwin Jewish Fay J. Lindner Residences in Commack, NY is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Resident Services to lead care teams and ensure the highest standards for our residents.

You will work Sunday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities, and participate in oversight of LPN Supervisors, Medication Aides, and Resident Care Coordinators. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Active NY LPN license required.
• Minimum 2 years LPN experience in geriatric care.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience with geriatric population.

Responsibilities

• Supervise LPN Supervisors, Medication Aides and Resident Care Coordinators.
• Keep Wellness Director informed regarding residents and staff.
• Liaise between residents' medical concerns and families.
• Oversee medication issues with Medication Aides weekly and report issues to the Director of Resident Services and Primary Care Provider.
• Work independently and delegate assignments to the Wellness Staff.
• Back-up to review Medical Evaluations prior to admission with the LPN Supervisor to ensure orders are reconciled in PointClickCare.
• Perform LPN Supervisor functions as needed.
• Maintain organization in the Wellness Office, Wellness Cabinets, Nursing Station, Chart Room, Exam Rooms and Waiting Area.
• Assist in ongoing training staff.
• Ability to assist a resident physically; may require lifting and bending.
• On-call responsibilities.

About this role:

• Act as back-up to review Medical Evaluations (3122) prior to admission with the LPN Supervisor to ensure all orders are reconciled in PointClickCare.
• Perform LPN Supervisor functions as needed.
• Maintain organization in the Wellness Office, Wellness Cabinets, Nursing Station, Chart Room, Exam Rooms and Waiting Area in a professional manner. Responsible for assisting the LPNs during MD clinic visits, (i.e. - Managing the residents and time allotted for their appointments).
• Assist in ongoing training staff.
• Ability to physically assist a resident in need. May require lifting and bending.
