Job summary

The Town of Ayer is seeking an Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation to assist the Director with administration, maintenance, and recreation programs across the town's parks, waterfront and facilities.

This full‑time, salaried role requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 1–3 years of parks or landscape maintenance experience; a valid driver’s license and CORI check are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; plus 1–3 years of parks, recreation, and landscape maintenance experience.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle license; pass CORI check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with administration, maintenance, and recreation programs for Town of Ayer parks, waterfront/beach, and facilities.
• Assist with department management and all related recreational programs and properties.

Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation

The Town of Ayer seeks a highly motivated individual to assist the Town's Director of Parks and Recreation with the administration, maintenance, and recreation programs of the Town of Ayer's parks, waterfront/beach, and all recreational facilities in the Town. The Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation and assists the Director with all aspects and functions of the Parks and Recreation Department to include the management of the Department and all related recreational programs; parks facilities and athletic structures. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in a recreational or business management field; plus 1 to 3 years of parks, recreation, and landscape maintenance experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid motor vehicle license; pass CORI check.

Full-time, salaried position with seasonal Saturday and evening requirements.
