Description

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will assist in ensuring the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident, as determined by assessments and individual care plans.

Responsibilities

Administrative Functions

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the daily functions of the nursing department in accordance with regulations and policies.

Quality of Care

• Develop and evaluate methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services, ensuring continuity of care.
• Communicate with physicians, medical director, and families regarding resident care issues.

Staffing

• Assist in determining staffing needs and in recruiting, hiring, and training nursing staff.
• Develop work schedules and supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed.

Quality Assurance

• Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program and serve on relevant committees.

Other Duties

• Review resident records, consultant reports, and assist with MDS assessments and care plans as needed.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and participate in on-call schedules.

Qualifications

Education & Training

• RN program completion from an accredited institution.

Licensing

• Current Texas RN Licensure.

Experience

• At least 3 years in a skilled nursing facility.
• RUG certification preferred.
