Job summary

Maries Manor in Vienna, Missouri is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our care team. The ADON will help recruit, mentor, and onboard nursing staff, and will coordinate staffing to ensure adequate coverage on every shift.

Responsibilities include coaching nurses to improve performance, monitoring expenses to stay within budget, conducting rounds and patient status reviews, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and families
• Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and healthcare laws
• Strong written communication to compile reports and evaluations
• Analytical skills to interpret diagnostic information and financial data
• Coaching skills to help nurses improve performance
• Time management and multitasking to complete many tasks
• Problem-solving to overcome obstacles in delivering patient care and maintaining staff coverage

Responsibilities

• Hiring new nurses and overseeing onboarding
• Creating schedules to ensure adequate nursing coverage for every shift
• Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues
• Monitoring expenses to ensure the facility operates within budgetary constraints
• Holding staff meetings to discuss patient status
• Conducting employee evaluations that identify nurses’ strengths and areas of improvement
• Making rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses
• Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up to date
