Job Description

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing team and ensuring quality patient care in the absence of the Director of Nursing. The ADON supervises, analyzes, delegates, and evaluates nursing activities, ensuring patient comfort and care. The role requires strong leadership skills and an understanding of the company's needs to develop relevant training programs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and teach new skills are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and monitoring nurses
  • Manage clinical operations and develop care plans
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management
  • Conduct patient rounds and address complaints
  • Train and educate staff
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Virginia
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent supervisory experience in a nursing care facility
  • Infection Preventionist certification preferred
  • Ability to organize, develop, and direct nursing services in compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations
