Job summary

WesleyLife is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for Hearthstone in Des Moines, IA. You will share nursing leadership with the DON across our Long-Term Care and Skilled units and guide staff through training and supervision.

You will evaluate resident care needs, coordinate staffing, and lead in-service meetings, surveys, and quality improvement. Expect a supportive, mission-driven workplace with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Iowa; graduated from an accredited nursing program
• 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in geriatric/long-term care
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations, QA, compliance, and clinical practices
• Strong supervisory/leadership skills to develop/supervise nursing personnel
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing operations within Long-Term Care and Skilled households in collaboration with the DON
• Provide ongoing training, support, and supervision to staff
• Assist in evaluating healthcare services needed for each resident
• Oversee staffing schedules and conduct in-service meetings
• Prepare for surveys and inspections by government agencies
• Partner with the DON for nursing operation efficiencies
• Oversee infection control program and reporting
• Communicate with physicians and families regarding resident status
• Participate in quality improvement activities

As the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with Hearthstone, you will:

• Collaborate with the DON for overall nursing leadership within our Long-Term Care and Skilled households
• Provide ongoing training, support and supervision to employees

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa, graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting
• Knowledgeable of state and federal regulations, quality assurance, compliance, and clinical practices
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills to develop/supervise nursing personnel in a team environment
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and skilled in effective delegation
