Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/Registered Nurse (RN)

Tarboro Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to become the Assistant Director of Nursing for our facility. This position provides clinical and organizational leadership to our Director of Nursing. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of supervisory experience in long-term care, be compassionate, handle multiple priorities, work flexible hours, and motivate staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support achievement of deficiency-free status by monitoring compliance with Medicare/Medicaid requirements; report on compliance issues.
• Ensure staff are properly oriented and regularly trained.
• Maintain frequent communication with residents and their loved ones to keep them informed and involved in care.
• Ensure quality nursing care by observing and enforcing safe procedures, counseling staff, implementing corrective actions, providing ongoing feedback, and participating in performance reviews.
• Support the facility's continuing care philosophy and maintain long-term care certification by adhering to standards, policies, and regulations.
• Possess direct experience with Electronic Medical Record software—Matrix experience is a plus.
• Ensure compliance with regulations by reviewing changes in Medicare/Medicaid, assessing training needs, and conducting chart reviews and counseling.
• Stay informed about current and emerging regulations, standards of practice, QAPI, and infection control.
• Support resident and team well-being by working with infection control to implement antibiotic stewardship and infection prevention guidelines.
• Coordinate transmission of information for continuity of care and discharge planning, attending relevant meetings.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call/weekend rotation to ensure RN coverage and assist with resident care as needed.
