Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual interested in providing positive, professional leadership in the management of our Skilled Nursing services? Apply to join the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing team today! As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will help oversee the operation of our Skilled Nursing services in conjunction with the DON through coaching and supervision of staff responsible for care delivery.

Assistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of clinical units with Case Managers
  • Manage the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
  • Act as the clinical liaison for monitoring systems, evaluating data, and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensure licensed staff are aware of nursing standards and operate within licensure expectations
  • Serve as the primary resource on Minimum Data Set (MDS) regulations
  • Follow procedures related to Vulnerable Adult and Abuse policies
  • Complete staff evaluations alongside the DON
  • Delegate tasks and coach staff in collaboration with Case Managers and DON
  • Coordinate nursing and resident care services with the interdisciplinary team
  • Monitor, audit, and intervene to ensure compliance with regulations and policies
  • Maintain survey readiness for state and federal inspections
  • Advocate for clients with legislators, policymakers, and supporters

Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of RN long-term care experience
  • Management and leadership experience preferred
  • Current training and extended experience in long-term care, geriatrics, rehabilitation, psychiatric nursing, and quality assurance
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification
  • Experience with MDS process and quality management preferred
  • Organized, critical thinker, proficient in computer skills
  • Current RN licensure in Minnesota
