St Monica Center for Rehab and Healthcare in Philadelphia, PA seeks an experienced nurse leader to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day nursing operations in a long-term care setting.

Required is a current, unencumbered RN license in Pennsylvania; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to manage high-stress situations are essential for delivering high-quality resident care.

• ADON experience or 2+ years in unit management/supervisory role.
• Current, unencumbered RN license in Pennsylvania; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with aging and chronically ill residents in long-term care.
• Strong leadership, communication, and ability to handle high-stress situations.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Director of Nursing with planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations.
• Resolve personnel issues and keep staff informed of changes affecting care quality.
• Develop work assignments and schedules; support nursing supervisors.
• Delegate administrative tasks to nursing teams.
• Supervise admissions for Medicare skilled services eligibility/denial.
• Notify providers of resident status and changes in skilled services eligibility.
• Ensure physician orders are obtained and coordinate therapeutic services.
• Make daily rounds to align assignments with resident care needs.
• Monitor medication passes and schedules; report errors.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed.

Full job description

The Qualifications:

• Previous ADON experience preferredOR2 years' unit manager/supervisory experience
• Possess a current, unencumberedRegistered Nurselicense in Pennsylvania., bachelor's degree preferred
• Is knowledgeable of the needs of the aging and chronically ill requiring long term care
• Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agency personnel, and the general public
• Has patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition
• Possesses strong leadership, communication, and observational skills and the ability to manage high stress situations

The Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, staffing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department
• Resolve personnel issues and keep employees informed of current changes that affect the quality patient care provided
• Develop work assignments and schedules, and assist nursing supervisory staff
• Delegate the administrative tasks of the nursing teams assigned duties
• Supervise all admissions for eligibility/denial of Medicare skilled services
• Notify all providers of resident status of eligibility for skilled services and changes
• Ensure that written physician orders for skilled services per Medicare guidelines are obtained and coordinate therapeutic services for residents
• Make daily rounds of the nursing department to ensure that all work assignments and resident care needs are met
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules and report medication errors
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary
