The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) complements the Chief Nurse Officer (CNO) to ensure evidence-based clinical nursing practices are maintained in service of the organization’s patient population. The ADON co-directs all services provided by the Nursing Services Department and serves as the senior nursing leader in absence of the CNO. As a member of senior management, the ADON ensures development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with the CNO/CEO and facility management in designing and providing total patient care and services.

Screening: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical and be able to provide positive employment references.
Physical Demands: With or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained period of time, walk, pull, lift, raise and move objects from position to position (up to 50 lbs), finger grasp; feel sizes, shapes, temperatures, and textures; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly; visually detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, assess; perceive the nature of sound with or without correction; perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, or fingers.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in health related field preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of progressively responsible position as head of nursing, managing multiple departments preferred. Acute psychiatric care experience required.
Required Licenses: Current TX RN License.
Additional Requirements: Must obtain and maintain approved CPR certification and Management of Assaultive Behavior training including restraint and seclusion policies prior to assuming patient care responsibility.
