Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a proactive RN Assistant Director of Nursing Services. Located at 119 Providence Street, this 146-bed facility serves residents with diverse needs, including substance use disorders.

The role is salaried with weekly pay, offering $50 to $55 per hour. You will assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
• CPR certified.
• Must have at minimum one (1) year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or related health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DNS with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operations of the nursing department.
• Meets the clinical needs of all residents.
• Assist with development and input to clinical policies and procedures.
• Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed.
• Monitor staffing needs, schedules, and work assignments.
• Conduct rounds and visual inspections of each unit.
• Ensure medications are administered, stored, and audited properly.
• Assist in reviewing satisfaction of care and services with families and residents.
• Develop safety standards and monitor incidents, planning corrections as needed.
• Lead monthly Nursing department staff meetings across all shifts.
• Participate in surveys and implement plans of correction for deficiencies.

Worcester Rehab is a 146-bed skilled nursing facility located at 119 Providence Street. It serves a large population of residents with substance use disorders. This is a salaried role with weekly pay. $50 to $55 an hour with weekly pay.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, the primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services Department.

Experience & Education:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
• Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university. B.S.N. preferred.
• CPR certified.
• Must have as a minimum, one (1) year experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the DNS with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operations of the nursing department, according to state, federal, local, and corporate standards and regulations, policy and procedure, and scope of practice
• Meets the clinical needs of all residents
• Assists with maintaining, reviewing, and has input to the development of all clinical policies and procedures
• Ensures that nursing policies and procedures are followed
• Assists with continuously monitoring and reviewing the staffing needs, schedules, and work assignments
• Makes rounds of each nursing unit and does a visual inspection on each unit
• Ensures that medications are administered, handled, stored, and audited properly
• Assists the DNS with reviewing satisfaction of care and services by interviewing families and residents
• Assists the DNS in developing safety standards for the nursing department and monitors these through employee incidents and develops a plan of correction and audit tool for prevention
• Assist the DNS with Monthly Nursing department staff meetings that are held on all three shifts
• Participates in surveys and inspections by government agencies and implements plans of correction for deficiencies
