Assistant Director of Nursing
Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, under the general direction of the Director of Nursing Support Services, this position ofTH Assistant Director of Nursing/House-wide Supervisorhas the responsibility for coordinating all administrative and clinical matters pertaining to the administration, coordination, and supervision of nursing activities in the hospital. These duties encompass, but are not limited to, supervision and guidance of clinicians, evaluation of patient care practices, implementation of Performance Improvement monitoring, and participation in decision making activities. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care and possess outstanding communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence.
Duties of a Th Assistant Director of Nursing/House-wide Supervisormay include the following but are not limited to:
a.Knowledgeable/participates in the quality and patient safety programs.
b.Assesses units/organization for factor related to patient safety, staffing/scheduling methodology and patient flow.
c.Participates in goals for staffing, scheduling, utilization of patient acuity system and patient flow process.
a.Gives prior approval for overtime usage in the absence of the Unit Manager while remaining cognizant of the Nursing budget.
b.Assigns Float Staff/Agency personnel based on established guidelines in accordance with credentialing criteria.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $57500 - $81982 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
