Skilled Nursing Facility in Los Angeles is seeking a nursing supervisor to oversee licensed staff and ensure high-quality patient care under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Possesses a valid and current RN/LVN license.
• 1-2 years experience in long term care preferred.
• Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Is capable of following oral and written instructions.
• Has training, knowledge and experience which allows for general supervision of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises licensed staff.
• Participates as an Interdisciplinary Team member as directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
• Periodically reviews residents’ records and reports.
• Reviews physician orders, transfers and admission information for completeness.
• Serves as a role model for nursing staff.
• Promotes a positive, calm and effective work environment.
• Enforces Policy and Procedure with the advice and consent of the Director of Nursing Services.
• Monitors for noncompliance trends and makes recommendations.
• Conducts the interview process and hires licensed nurses with the advice and consent of the Director of Nursing Services.
• Assist in training all newly hired licensed nurses and provides ongoing training to all licensed nurses including conducting inservices.
• Conducts verbal and written counseling with the licensed staff and completes the termination process of staff with the advice and consent of the Director of Nursing Services.
• Evaluates licensed nurses for efficiency and productivity and recommends wage increases to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Investigates employee complaints and makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Makes recommendations on the various merchandise, materials and supplies needed for the functioning of the Nursing Department.
• Monitors for employee safety and makes recommendations accordingly.
• Represents the facility at functions such as health fairs, colleges, ect.
• Coordinates collection of time and attendance records.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and as directed by the Director of Nursing Services
• Serves on committees as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator.
