Position: Assistant Director of Nursing - Avalon Senior Living
Schedule: Full Time, Flexible Schedule
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46237

We are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team! The ADON assumes delegated responsibility for ensuring quality resident care in alignment with nursing standards and compliance with state and federal regulations. This role also oversees all direct reports and manages nursing operations in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON).
Essential Duties
- Maintain and implement nursing policies and procedures reflecting current standards of nursing practice, company policies, and all government regulations (state/federal)
- Manage and analyze processes, Key Performance Indicators and clinical data for optimal performance, utilize Leadership, Management, and Accountability
- Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff. Monitor practices for effective implementation and achievement of results
- Conduct assessments suggesting a level of care for residents as directed by the DON
- Demonstrate knowledge of and application of Key Clinical Quality Indicators
- Reviews 24-hour report daily to ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, unexplained injuries, potential abuse or neglect, medication errors, loss of resident property, or any evidence of resident or family dissatisfaction, as directed by the DON, or in their absence.
- Embrace healthy, frequent interactions with residents and their family members
- Maintain up to date resident clinical data in chosen EMR system
Work Experience Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical with a current state license in good standing
- Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience in Assisted Living/Memory Care or health care
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory/management experience with direct care staff
- Strong organizational and time management skills, prioritizing and accomplishing multiple responsibilities
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Work independently, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and be a positive leader
- Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
- Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
- CPR and First Aid certified
