Job summary

Ron Jaworski Golf is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Director of Golf to join Downingtown Country Club in Downingtown, PA. This full-time role oversees tee sheets, staff supervision, tournaments, and guest service to ensure exceptional experiences.

The ideal candidate has PGA membership preferred, can teach golf to players of all levels, and has experience in golf retail and inventory. The position offers growth opportunities and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• PGA membership preferred.
• Experience in golf shop operations and tee time systems.
• Ability to provide high-level golf instruction to players of all levels.
• Experience in golf course retail, inventory management, and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Manage tee times, check-ins, pace of play, and daily opening/closing procedures.
• Train, schedule, and oversee golf shop attendants, cart staff, and outside operations.
• Work with the Director of Golf on tournaments, reports, and event planning; ensure guest service throughout the event.
• Represent Ron Jaworski Golf professionally and address guests' questions and concerns.
• Support merchandise and inventory, including selection and sales.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operations & Tee Sheets: Manage tee times, check-ins, pace of play, and daily opening/closing procedures.
• Staff Supervision: Train, schedule, and oversee golf shop attendants, cart staff, and outside operations.
• Tournaments & Events: Working with the Director of Golf on the tournament organization, printing tournament reports, making sure the tournament plan is in place before the event, following through on all aspects of customer service during the event and finish the event with tournament scoring and results.
• Customer Service & Instruction: Represent Ron Jaworski Golf in a professional and respective manner. Putting the guest’s questions and concerns first and following through on all issues to make sure they are resolved.
• Merchandise & Inventory: Support the golf shop with inventory management, apparel/equipment selection, and sales.

Qualifications:

• PGA (Professional Golfers' Association) membership is preferred.
• Ability to provide high-level golf instruction to players of all skill levels.
• Experience in golf course retail, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Proficiency in golf-related software and technology for scheduling and tee time management.
• Handle tee sheet reservations with Lightspeed.

Working Conditions:

• Employee must be able to lift/handle up to 20 lbs. occasionally
• Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
• Work weekends and holidays
• Physical activity including long periods of standing, walking, bending,
• Fast paced high traffic areas with a moderate to loud noise level
