Job summary

The Westin Portland Harborview in Portland, ME seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering to lead the property operations team and ensure all building systems operate safely and efficiently. Qualifications

• Experience supervising an engineering team and coordinating preventive maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire codes, and safety compliance.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of all hotel building systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, plumbing, electrical, elevators).
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms and public spaces; train staff.
• Schedule staff, assign work, monitor performance, and train new hires.
• Manage parts, inventory, budgets, invoices, and cost controls.
• Plan capital projects and enforce safety regulations; participate in safety meetings.

Education

Building trade license or certification (state) preferred
