Assistant Director of Career Accelerators

Reporting to the Associate Director of Career Accelerators, this position leads the execution and daily operations of the Career Accelerator Initiative, managing the full lifecycle of student engagement from recruitment through completion. This role coordinates program delivery, student experience, and partner engagement while working closely with Career Center Consultants, Employer Relations, and the Mentor Program to ensure seamless implementation. The Assistant Director plays a key role in delivering group coaching, coordinating events, and driving participation through effective communication and outreach.

Additional Schedule Information

8:00am–5:00pm; Flexibility to work evenings and weekends may be necessary to meet business needs

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience working in career services or related field, preferably working with first year and second-year students
• Proven ability to work effectively with students, especially from underrepresented populations, as well as with alumni, faculty, and employers
• Supervisory and career assessment experience
• Prior career counseling experience

• Strong verbal and written communications skills; excellent presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects; strong planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrated program development and events coordination experience
• Proficient computer skills, especially web-based technology

Duties/Responsibilities

(40%) Program Implementation & Delivery

• Execute all aspects of Career Accelerator programming, including cohort management and participant experience
• Coordinate and deliver workshops, coaching sessions, networking events, employer panels, site visits, and conferences
• Ensure all required program components are implemented (e.g., eLC course, Arch Ready, mentoring, coaching sessions)
• Collaborate with Career Center consultants to facilitate programming and deliver coaching support

(25%) Student Engagement, Coaching, & Cohort Management

• Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of accelerator participants
• Provide direct coaching support to students and coordinate additional coaching through Career Center staff
• Track student progress and ensure completion of program requirements
• Maintain consistent, high-quality communication to drive engagement and accountability

(20%) Events, Employer Coordination, & Cross-Team Execution

• Plan and execute events in partnership with Employer Relations and the Mentor Program, including networking events, treks, and recruiting activities
• Coordinate logistics and communication with employers, alumni, and campus partners
• Support integration with academic units in collaboration with Academic Integration leadership
• Ensure smooth execution across all program touchpoints

(15%) Operational Support

• Implement marketing and outreach strategies in coordination with Career Center communications to drive participation
• Track program metrics (participation, completion, satisfaction) and support reporting efforts
• Maintain accurate program records and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and student experience
• Other duties as assigned
